Scholarship Application Form Calendar Year 2008

OPERA WORCESTER, INCORPORATED

Opera Worcester, INC. is offering a scholarship of: $ 4000 to students residing in Worcester County.  To be eligible to apply, candidates must be entering an accredited music school with a major in voice or musical theatre, and must be enrolled in a program leading to a degree or diploma.  Only high school seniors are eligible to audition.

On a separate sheet of paper:

   1. Specify type of voice: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone, or Bass.
   2. Describe any theoretical work you have done (theory, harmony, composition, etc.).
   3. List any special honors you have received for your musical activities:
               (All-state, achievement awards, scholarships)
   4. List any school-sponsored or outside musical activities you have participated in.

List the selections you plan to sing at the audition.

   Please Note!
With your application please enclose an official transcript of your high school grades and at least two letters of recommendation from persons who have knowledge of your musical ability.

Applicants must provide his or her own accompanist.

If a scholarship is awarded to you, half will be credited for the first semester.  After successful completion of that semester the other half will be credited for the second semester.
